What is Reiki?

Reiki is an ancient system of natural healing that positively affects the whole person by use of universal life energy. "Reiki" comes from the Japanese ideograms "Rei" (spiritual wisdom) and "Ki" (life force), and can be translated as "Spiritually Guided Lifeforce Energy". This is the same energy referred to as "prana," "white light," "Christ-light," "the Force," or "chi."

Reikiis a powerful, yet gentle system of healing that works to bring balance, healing and lasting relief to all four levels of being; Mental, Emotional, Physical, and Spiritual.

Although Reiki is not a substitute for traditional medical practice, Reiki works well with and can enhance many other healing modalities.

Usui Reiki has no theories or dogma, it simply transmits pure energy. The great value of Reiki lies in the fact that the energy is guided by Divine Intelligence. It knows exactly where to go and how to respond to blockages in the flow of life force energy (ki). The practitioner does not need to diagnose or consciously direct the flow of the energy. Through divine intelligence, Reiki’s sacred energies brings healing, harmony, and balance all around.

Brief History of Reiki
Reiki was discovered in the late 1800s, by Dr. Mikao Usui, a professor of Christian theology in Kyoto, Japan. When Dr. Usui would teach about the miraculous healing’s of Jesus, he often told his students that he believed that teachers such as Jesus and Buddha were in contact with a “transcendent” source of energy. But when his students challenged him to prove his own beliefs, Dr. Usui found himself unable to. He was so stunned by this question (one that he often wondered about), that he resigned from the University and set out to search out the answers as he promised his students. His search for the truth led him on a long 17 year journey in which he studied the oldest known texts in Hebrew and Aramic as well as the Japanese & Chinese Sanskrit sutra’s for clues for the healing that Jesus and Buddha had performed. At the end of his long journey he discovered (in Indian Sanskrit) a profound discovery, a sacred source of energy the Japanese coined “Reiki”. In a vision, the gift of healing was revealed to Usui and he was empowered to do Reiki in the form we see today.

In this traditional lineage, Reiki has been passed down from Dr. Usui, to Dr. Hyashi, to Madam Takata, (who brought it to the United States). Takata, before her passing in 1980 initiated 21 masters, one of which was Virginia Samdahl, who taught my Master teacher Dan Esparza's teacher Joyce Morris. If you are interested in becoming a Reiki Practitioner and choose to study with me, you will get this direct lineage in your training.

The sacredness of Reiki energy is experienced when our consciousness is raised and we reach higher frequency vibrations. Reiki accelerates our already latent abilities, and I soon noticed that my clairvoyant abilities significantly increased after my Reiki II inititation. . When I had my Mastership Initiation I was embraced by a beautiful golden square, interdimensional and filled with divine golden light. Everyone's experience is different, but we all share the higher consiosness and knowledge. Once you have reached a certain state this state can be entered again and again, as your consciousness is now raised to this frequency!
